Projekt publikacji powstał w ramach obchodów 70. Rocznicy wybuchu II Wojny Światowej i wręczenia medali "Bohaterom Września 1939".
Projekt graficzny okładki nawiązuje do formy tablicy pamiątkowej. Na kartonie zostały wytłoczone imiona i nazwiska osób odzanaczonych podczas ceremonii - wszystkich żyjących "Bohaterów Września 1939". W efekcie uspokajająca biel z zewnątrz, z drugiej strony kryje "burzliwą" czerwień. Niewielki otwór, jak ślad po pocisku, przeszywa wszystkie strony publikacji. W druku zostały użyte dwa kolory: czerwony i czarny.
Publikacja została wręczona wszystkim odznaczonym.

The publication project came into being as part of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the 2nd World War outbreak and the medal awarding to “September 1939 Heroes”.
The cover’s graphic design refers to the form of the commemorative plaque. The names and the surnames of all the people awarded during the ceremony – all the “September 1939 Heroes” alive – were impressed in the cardboard. As a result, the soothing white from the outside, inside hides “tempestuous” red. A tiny opening, like the bullet trace, pierces all the pages of the publication. There are two colours: red and black used in the print. All the awarded were presented with the publication.
